Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of plant growth regulators on growth and cut-flower quality of Eustoma grandiflorum cv. Plantina Violet in rain shelter greenhouse. Length of flower stem and No. of leaves increased by the application of 200 or 400 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý and 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý combined with 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) ethephon. Marketability was high by one application (80 days after sowing) of 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý, but low marketable flowers expressed as high ratio of bending of flower neck tended to increase with the three applications (80 days after sowing, 7 and 21 days after planting, respectively) of 200 or 400 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý. Days to flowering was shortened from 2 to S days by GA©ý treatment, and delayed from 10 to 12 days with the application of ethephon treatment as compared to control. Yields of marketable flowers was improved with the application 100, 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) ethephon, one time application of 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý and 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý combined with 200 §·¡¤L^(-1) ethephon.
